On October 1st, ecoFredericton entered a competition for up to $150,000. This funding would allow us to complete the essential elements of the ecovillage project. It would also provide an investment toward obtaining further grants, generating revenue, and attracting more in kind support to accomplish everything we have planned.
The competition, judged partially by online public voting, allows voting once per day. There are three qualifying rounds between October 1st and November 26th. Through early December, 30 proposals from each qualifying round compete in the semi-finals - again, through public voting - for 30 spots in the finals. Winners are then selected by judges.
In order to get people voting and keep them voting, we need to promote this campaign. This is a fund for advertising. We want to take out print and radio ads, put up posters, and explore many other promotional avenues, so we will be gratefully accepting special donations particularly for that purpose.
