A flame flickering in many directions.
My main concern in life personal growth. An ambiguous result of this is that the belief in any sort of 'normal' is far in my past. Even though most of my time is spent in intellectual pursuits, I'm actually not boring - proof: I was recently a go-go dancer (seriously ... that's not a joke).
I'm finished university (BA in Philosophy), but I'll always be a student in a very active sense (just not geared toward earning meaningless pieces of paper anymore).
My job as a hospital patient attendant involves exclusively overnight shifts. While I read, study, and create most of that time, it is very rewarding to be there for the patients when they need me. I will probably teach someday, when I feel that I've learned enough to do so. Of course this is problematic because (paraphrasing Socrates) the more I learn, the less I will consider myself to know.
I have some unconventional political and ethical views, which include the belief that all living beings have intrinsic value and deserve for their lives to be respected as well as possible. I am a vegetarian, I recycle, and I believe in conserving our remaining oil. I'm also a strong believer in the Oxford comma. There's a huge difference between 'I went to a party with the strippers, Kennedy, and Stalin' and 'I went to a party with the strippers, Kennedy and Stalin'. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be responsible for burning the image of Kennedy and Stalin in garter belts into people's heads.
